Pelican Bay by Steve Gee A BIG THANK YOU TO KEVIN AND CATHY LEONG and Chester and Jutta Plomgren for once again organizing The Pelican Bay social event of the year! Over 50 families enjoyed the bounce house, fellowship with neighbors, and of course food! Kevin, Cathy, Chester and Jutta have been organizing the picnic for over 35 years and could really use some help to keep this great event going. If you’re interested in helping out, please email our Association Manager at PLB@harborbay. org.

at the potluck and you’ll find the effort to know your neighbors is worth it. Keep an eye out for future gatherings of Harbor Pointe residents and, in the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to smile and wave to your neighbors during a walk to the mailbox. Headlands by Marla Lee W E WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE to Association Manager Elyce Philcox for her outstanding service with the Headlands. For more than six years, Elyce has been a joy to work with while also demonstrating professionalism, patience and skill in her contributions to ensure the smooth operation of our association. We deeply appreciate all her hard work and commitment and wish her well as she continues to manage a full workload with other CHBIOA associations. At the same time, we are pleased to welcome new Association Manager Amanda Meng to our team. Amanda, a certified CCAM (California Community Association Manager) has been with the office for two and a half years and this year received Northern California’s Vision Awards Rising Star Award for continually exceeding standards of professionalism and skill, commitment to excellence, and high ethical standards. Dawn Jaeger, CHBIOA Executive Director says Amanda is very detailed, organized and loves to be active with her boards. She is confident Amanda will be an awesome fit for the Headlands. Amanda can be contacted at HDL@harborbay.org or 510-865-3363 ext. 354. We also want to thank two of our board members for their many years of volunteer service, Martin Fong since 2019 and Melissa Plaisance for more than 20 years! Their commitment, expertise and passion have been invaluable assets to guide board decisions and help our community thrive. Joel Plaisance will join the board (at Melissa’s urg ing) and we seek yet another board member to join our team. Please contact Amanda Meng or any of your ongo ing board members, Tom Lynch, Chad Otten or Marla Lee for more information.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to Beverly Johnson, our Board President, and former Alameda Mayor, who recently moved to Colorado to be closer to family. We were so for tunate to have Bev lead our Board and she will be sorely missed. As a result, we have an opening on the Board of Directors. Please contact our Association Manager if interested. I got a chance to talk to several homeowners and some asked, “What do our dues pay for?” Great question. We pay $250.87 per month for two sets of dues. Your CHBIOA dues of $158.57, are separate from your Pelican Bay Dues, and are based on the Community of Harbor Bay Isle Owners’ Association (CHBIOA) budget which is sent out by CHBIOA in early December each year. Your Pelican Bay HOA dues of $92.30 are based on the Pelican Bay HOA budget and are managed by the Pelican Bay Board along with our Association Manager. Of the Pelican Bay dues, approximately 50% goes to water and electricity, landscaping (our gardeners), and tree maintenance; 25% goes to administration - our
