AssociationNews Brittany Landing Bay by Sandy Olsen I T’S HALLOWEEN MONTH! I HOPE ALL THE KIDS (AND adults) are looking forward to decorating, planning costumes, and the sugar highs of trick-or-treating! Meanwhile, here is other information for the Brittany Landing Bay ‘hood: POOL AND SPA This is the last month that the pool will be open until next Spring, so get in those laps! Pool and spa hours are 6am to 10pm. However, the new furniture and three new umbrellas will remain in place for residents who want to enjoy some autumn summer-like weather (if we have any) before the rains arrive. Of course, the spa is heated and available all year round, if you want to get a quick warm up during the winter months. As a reminder, please turn on the timer for only the amount of time you plan to be in it. If you turn the timer all the way on, it gets stuck and uses up electricity. Thanks! Since we have had an issue with some young people getting into the pool area and using the spa after 10pm, please contact Harbor Bay Security at 510-865-0417 if you see or hear any activity after 10pm. Also, during pool open hours, please do not let anyone in who does not have a key unless you know that they are a resident. Guests (up to 4) must be accompanied by a resident in order to use the pool. LANDSCAPING Fall planting will begin when the rains start. The Landscape Committee will work with our Landscape Company to replace trees and shrubs as needed and as the budget allows. Recently, Brittany Landing Bay has been losing plants. Please let our Association Manager, know if you see plants that are struggling around your residence (510-865-3363, or BLB@harborbay.org). Failure can be caused by not enough water, or from disease or infestation. Replacing plants can be costly and the Association wants to be proactive in addressing problems. As a reminder, please contact our Association Manager immediately if you notice pooling water anywhere in the complex. It usually means a break in the drip system that needs prompt attention.
STORM DRAINS This Fall, Brittany Landing Bay’s vendor will hydrojet all 142 storm drain systems to ensure that gutters will flow freely from downspouts and away from foundations. Clear storm drains are vital in managing heavy rainfall. Homeowners are responsible to ensure that the drains in their private patios are fully functional. It’s recommended that homeowners run water into their drains to confirm that they are clear. If not, water on patios may encroach on foundations or even into homes. NEW RESIDENTS Over the summer, Brittany Landing Bay has had new owners and renters move into the complex. Please say hello to any new neighbors around your residence and welcome them to our community. To quote Porky Pig: That’s All Folks! Until we meet again in 2025, have a wonderful holiday season, be well and be safe!
