from the path to reduce potential tripping hazards for walkers and collision risks for bikers. Additionally, please remove any damaged or non-functional toys (e.g., riding toys missing wheels) and dispose of them in the trash bin. We want to prevent situations where a child could get hurt trying to play with broken toys. ABOUT THE GREEN BELT LARGE GRASS AREA We also want to remind everyone of some guidelines to help us keep the green belt area clean and enjoyable for all. Please note that vehicles are never permitted on the grass. We have received reports of cars and vendors driving onto the grass to make deliveries. This can damage the grass and the irrigation system, which can result in costly repairs for our community. After gatherings, please ensure all trash is disposed of in the designated bins, and we encourage residents to take recycling items home and place them in the blue recycling bins for proper processing. COVENANTS, CONDITIONS, AND RESTRICTIONS (CC&Rs) As a reminder, the Board is actively working on updating our Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs), which have not been revised in years. These documents are essential in guiding our community’s rules and governance. A new ballot package will be sent out in the coming months. We kindly ask everyone to vote promptly and return their ballots so that we can ratify the new documents. Timely participation will help us avoid the need for follow-up mailings to the community. Thank you all for your attention and efforts in making Sandpiper Cove a wonderful place to live!
S WE HEAD INTO THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND prepare to welcome a bright new year, the Seastrand Board would like to extend warm
wishes to all homeowners. We hope this time of year brings you joy, relaxation, and the chance to enjoy family, friends, and the beauty of our community. Along with our holiday greetings, we’d like to share a few important updates happening around Seastrand. Repaving throughout the community is almost complete, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during the process. As of now, all of Sea View Parkway has been repaved, and the final road and crosswalk markings will be finished soon. New stop signs will also be added at the intersection of Sea View Parkway and Aughinbaugh. With these improvements, we’re hopeful that drivers will become more aware and cautious of pedestrians and bicyclists along Sea View—affectionately known by many as “Sea View Speedway.” We’re also putting out a call for Seastrand Board candidates. Our 2026 Board election will take place on May 26th during the annual meeting, and we are looking for two enthusiastic homeowners to step forward and run. Applications are due by February 24, 2026. If you enjoy being involved, care about the community, and bring a bit of common sense to the table, we would love to see your name on the ballot. Even two out of those three qualities is good enough! In addition, many of you may already be aware of the proposed redevelopment of Harbor Bay Landing. The developer’s initial SB 330 application was withdrawn because it did not meet the City of Alameda’s requirements—such as retaining a Safeway or equivalent grocery store. However, City staff have confirmed that the developer still wishes to explore options for a mixed use project that both the City and the community can support. Updates will continue to be posted on the City’s Harbor Bay Landing Redevelopment webpage as more information becomes available. As 2025 ends, we want to thank all of our homeowners for their continued support, patience, and participation in keeping Seastrand a wonderful place to live. The Seastrand Board wishes you the happiest of holidays and a truly great New Year!
