Pelican Bay by Steve Gee W
We have a big project coming up to repair the asphalt bicycle path. Our trees constantly push up on it creating cracks. We are currently evaluating vendors and should have this project completed in the next few months. Lastly, welcome to our Association Manager Diana Torres. Diana replaces Sami Soogian who did a fantastic job serving Pelican Bay and we will miss her. Diana has been with CHBIOA for a while and is familiar with its associations, including ours. Diana can be reached at PLB@harborbay.org From Diana: As Steve mentioned, I have been with this great organization for two years now and have been recently CCAM certified. I am excited about working with the Pelican Bay Board of Directors and getting to know the Pelican Bay homeowners. I wish you all a great new year and please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any additional questions or concerns. Sandpiper Cove by Matthew Harms G REETINGS SANDPIPER COVE COMMUNITY members. First, we are delighted to highlight members of our community who diligently work to make our neighborhood a better place. One of our members who lives near the Tot Lot has become known for consistently dedicating their time to maintain the area. Darryl Ko has personally taken it upon himself, for many years, to maintain the pathways, playground, and surrounding greenbelt—what he jokingly calls his “side yard.” Motivated by the Boy Scout motto, “Do a good deed daily,” Darryl regularly sweeps the paths and street corners, clears pine needles and fallen pine cones left by squirrels, sweeps scattered bark from dogs at play, tidies toys and sand from the playground, and even cleans up trash that wildlife occasionally pulls from the bins. Darryl reflects that he is happy to help the community, as “living in Sandpiper Cove is both a privilege and a blessing.” On behalf of the entire community, thank you, Darryl, for your dedication and for helping keep Sandpiper Cove a neighborhood we are all proud to call home. REGARDING THE TOT LOT We would like to remind all community members that maintaining the tot lot is a collective effort. Frequently, stray toys end up on the green belt path. After your child has finished playing, please take a moment to pick up toys
ANT TO HELP MAKE PELICAN BAY A GREAT place to live? If you’re interested in running for the Board or volunteering on a committee
(Landscape, Architectural or Finance) is a great way. A Call for Candidates to join the Pelican Bay HOA Board has been sent out as we have three open Board seats. Come to the January 20, 2025 board meeting to find out more. You might have noticed that our picnic table was showing its age. So, the table top and seats were all replaced. Come by and see! The Children’s Merry-go-Round retaining wall was repaired and new seating was added. We’re going to be fixing the wall on the opposite side and adding seating as well. We also spruced up the kid’s playground with additional bark and repaired the infant swings and the slide.
