Headlands by Marla Lee W E NEED MORE THAN JUST YOUR DUES – WE need you! The Headlands is actively seeking new board members. We know it’s easy to say, “I’ve got better things to do with my time,” but here’s why your involvement really matters: • Protect property values. • Help decide how dues are spent to benefit the community. • Shape decisions if you don’t like how things are currently done. • Suggest improvements like landscaping, safety upgrades, or fun events like block parties that bring neighbors together. Think you're too busy? You’d only need to commit about 2 hours every other month, reviewing meeting notes and joining a virtual meeting via RingCentral from the comfort of your home. Worried about experience? No special background is required. You just need a willingness to pitch in. If you do have skills, whether in communications, planning, finance or project management, we’d love to put them to good use. Training and support are provided by the HOA office staff, and you’ll learn as you go. Join us! Come to our next open meeting on July 15th at 6 PM via RingCentral, or contact neighbor and board member Joel Plaisance at joel.plaisance@comcast. net or 510-522-2352 to learn more. Also, our Annual Membership meeting will be on August 16th. A Reminder: Please don’t store porta-potties or other equipment on curb strips. These areas were restored with new mulch, ground covers, and plantings as part of the curb strip renovation. Storing items there damages plant ings, interferes with maintenance crews and is in violation of HOA rules. Homeowners may be responsible for the cost of replacing mulch and any plant material lost. Help us keep the community looking great while also protect ing the investment of our dues.

Pelican Bay by Wilma Wong P ELICAN BAY IS HAVING ITS ANNUAL PICNIC ON Saturday, August 16, 2025. Meet, mingle, and network with your neighbors. Come see our refurbished picnic area and a fun jump house for the kids. Have a hot dog, hamburger, or both! Plates, forks, napkins and some drinks are supplied. Bring a dish, dessert, or drinks to share or just come and be neighborly! We would love to see you. Plus, come to honor our neighbors Cathy and Kevin Leong and Chester and Jutta Plomgren, our long-time picnic organizers, who have been at the helm of this event for more than 30 years! We would welcome new volunteer members to this Social Committee to continue this great legacy and fun event. Come on down! Thinking of painting your house? We have a beautiful new color palette available. A huge thank you to our neighbors Noel Cisneros, Mike Etcholls, Debbie Nakamura, and Patrick Lynch for their efforts in putting the new palette together! This palette took considerable effort by this team and comes with a 5-20% discount (depending on product) from Benjamin Moore. The discount is available at Pagano’s Hardware in South Shore and at Creative Paint in San Leandro. The palette can be viewed online at the Harbor Bay website or in person at the Harbor Bay Office. Be sure to fill out an architectural application before painting. We currently have a vacancy on our Board of Directors. We are sure you care about our community and could contribute to ensuring that we continue to have a safe and beautiful place to live. It’s not a huge commitment. We meet in the evening every other month, in person is best (pizza provided), but online is also available. No special requirements, you just need to be a homeowner who cares about where we live. Please email our Association Manager, PLB@harborbay. org, about joining us, the architectural application, or any other questions. Hope to see you soon. P.S. Please remember to pick up your litter, dog poop, cigarette butts, etc. Help keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful!
