T HE HARBOR BAY ISLE COMMUNITY CENTER IS NOW open for the Intercultural Committee (IC) to hold monthly meetings. The Intercultural Committee (IC) will meet at the HBI community center for a social gathering - 10:30 AM to 12 noon on the following dates: January 22, February 19, and March 19. Lunar New Year is on January 29 and this is the Year of the Snake in Chinese Zodiac. People born in the Snake year are intuitive, strategic, intelligent, patient, persistent, and wise. To comply with the bylaws, new friends who wish to become members must reside in the Community of Harbor Bay Isle (CHBI). To renew your membership, please complete the application form and submit payment in person at our social event or mail to Harbor Bay Intercultural Committee, Attn: Membership, 3195 Mecartney Road, Alameda, CA 94502. New Year Dinner/Annual Election – Sunday, January 19, 5:45 PM, Fusion Delight Restaurant, 699 Lewelling Blvd, Ste. 212, San Leandro, 94579, 510-895-1818. Please join in the celebration. The cost is $50 for members (2 members per family) and $55 for nonmembers. Please contact Vivian for reservation and payment arrangement. Please RSVP and remit payment by Monday, January 13. Mail check payable to Harbor Bay Intercultural Committee, Attn: IC Members RSVP, 3195 Mecartney Road, Alameda CA 94502. If you prefer making a cash/ check payment drop off, please arrange with Vivian to do so. PAST EVENTS On September 14th, 29 IC members and friends enjoyed a delicious Mid-Autumn Festival lunch at Pacific Lighthouse Restaurant. Many thanks to Vivian Chin and Raymond Tang for all the arrangements. On September 18th, IC members gathered at Genghis Khan Kitchen for lunch. Afterwards, there were 17 members given a tour of Mastick Center. The center provides a variety of classes and activities for seniors. All seniors are welcome to sign up for membership.
