Thank you for continuing to make Centre Court a place where neighbors care, spaces are respected, and our community feels like home. Here’s to a safe, happy, and connected start to the new year! Clipper Cove by Nancie Shelden, Board Secretary S PRING IS IN FULL SWING AT CLIPPER COVE, AND there’s a lot happening around our community! From ongoing landscape conversions to drought tolerant plants, to updates on irrigation, drainage, and fiber-optic installations, this edition of The Gull’s Call brings you the latest news, reminders, and opportunities to get involved. Whether it’s submitting architectural applications, volunteering on the Board, or marking your calendar for our annual dinner meeting, there’s something for every homeowner to know and participate in. LANDSCAPING As part of our ongoing effort to comply with State Law AB 1572, we are continuing to convert turf areas to drought tolerant landscaping. Recent work has focused on corner locations, including Sandpiper Place, Capetown Drive at Channing Way and Clipper Drive, and Basinside Way at Capetown Drive and Captains Drive. We are currently working with landscape designers to develop a plan to guide plantings for future conversions. We ask that you not supplement the plantings with any additions of your own without first notifying and receiving approval from our Association Manager. The irrigation has been designed to meet the individual needs of the new plants and will not support additional plantings not installed by the landscaper. Recently there have been questions about drainage. To be clear, Clipper Cove's front yard landscape responsibilities do not include drainage, except to the extent that our contractor will attempt to clear existing drains of grass and landscape debris. If an owner wishes to install or repair drainage lines, that is their responsibility. Please contact our Association Manager if you have any questions or special circumstances. Note, any installation of drainage lines requires architectural approval.
As always, if you notice any issues with the irrigation system—such as broken sprinklers or damaged pipes— please report them to our Association Manager at CCV@ harborbay.org or submit a request online at harborbay. org/work-order-request so that they can be promptly addressed. ARCHITECTURAL APPLICATIONS Please remember that any changes or additions to the exterior of your home—including painting, siding, windows, fences, or other improvements—as well as any landscape modifications in the front or rear yards, require submission and approval of an architectural application in advance. Applications should be submitted well ahead of time, as they are reviewed on a preset twice-monthly schedule. Projects that require an exception to a specific rule must be approved by the Clipper Cove Board of Directors. Following these procedures helps ensure our community maintains high standards and compliance with our CC&Rs. If you are seeking a paint exception, special rules apply, so please check with our Association Manager before submitting your application. HOMEOWNER VOLUNTEERS There is still an open position on the Board of Directors as of March 2026. Being a board member is a great opportunity to be involved in your local community, meet your neighbors, and help ensure that Clipper Cove continues to be a very desirable place to live. If you are interested, please contact our Association Manager at CCV@harborbay.org or 510-865-3363, ext. 358. FIBER OPTIC CABLE You may have noticed street work in the Basinside Way, Chilmark Lane, and Captains Drive area, where AT&T is installing fiber optic cable. Similar installation work will take place throughout Clipper Cove, although a schedule for these areas has not yet been announced. ANNUAL MEETING – MAY 12TH, 2026 AT 5:30 PM Save the Date: Our annual dinner meeting will be held on May 12th at 5:30 PM. You will be receiving reminder notifications shortly, but please save the date and plan on attending. These meetings have been well received, and we look forward to seeing an even larger turnout this year!
