Cantamar by Barbara Caulfield, Board Treasurer S PRING BRINGS WARMER WEATHER AND LONGER days and we hope you have a chance to enjoy both. The Cantamar Board is pleased to report that the first phase of the sewer lateral project is complete and the second phase is, or will be, starting soon for the center part of the development. This will include Cotella, Ferro, Miranda and 78 - 180 Ratto. The contractor assigned should be contacting each homeowner no less than 24-hours prior to notify them of starting work. Excavated earth may be temporarily deposited in the street or unused driveways at the homeowner’s option. This is a time when some think of working in their gardens. We remind homeowners that it is your responsibility to maintain your front landscaping - from your home to the sidewalk. Curb strips and common areas are maintained by the HOA. Please do not plant, or prune trees or shrubs in the curb strips. As we continue these efforts, we value your input! If you notice any landscaping areas that need attention, or observe irrigation issues such as leaks or malfunctioning sprinklers, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your association manager. In a recent walking review of the development with the landscaping crew, some problems were noted and will be reviewed by the Board. All residents should consider checking trees on their property to ensure they are not touching rooflines as this can lead to clogged gutters and other problems. In addition to reviewing the landscaping, the HOA has completed several additional projects meant to improve the community and maintain safety. These include grinding down uneven sidewalk surfaces, re-painting red curb fire lanes, and replacing many of the no parking signs in the community. Please be mindful and remind your guests not to park in the fire lanes, identified by the red curbs and no parking signs. As a final note, please do not park vehicles in a manner that blocks the sidewalk and forces pedestrians into the street to avoid vehicles parked in this manner. As always, if you have any suggestions, concerns, or even compliments, you can reach us at CAN@harborbay.org.
AYWOOD VILLAGE IS A THRIVING, CLOSE-KNIT community where residents take great pride in creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
Known for its well-maintained properties, green spaces, and active neighborhood involvement, Baywood Village is a place where connections are made and friendships flourish. One of the key events in the community calendar is the Annual Membership meeting, a vital gathering where residents come together to discuss the future direction of the neighborhood, share updates, and ensure that the interests of the community are upheld. This meeting serves as a platform for transparency, collaboration, and decision-making, ensuring that Baywood Village continues to grow and improve for everyone who calls it home. As part of the Annual Membership meeting, we are excited to announce and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership for the 2025-2026 term. A special congratulations to Grant Scully, who has been appointed as President, and to Rick Mozolic, who will serve as First Vice President. With their combined experience and dedication to the betterment of Baywood Village, we are confident that their leadership will bring positive change and continued growth to the community. Here's to a successful year ahead, as we look forward to the future under the guidance of the board, including Ramona Malata, Second Vice President, and Sunny Tsou, Secretary. We also want to express our gratitude to the outgoing board members for their hard work and contributions. The mailboxes at Baywood Village are currently undergoing an upgrade, with locks on all kiosks being replaced. While this improvement is essential for enhancing security, the USPS has indicated that this is only a temporary solution. As a result, the Board of Directors, along with the Baywood community, should begin discussing plans for budgeting and replacing the entire kiosk units in the near future. This proactive approach will ensure that the mail delivery system remains secure and functional in the long term, addressing both current and future needs of the community.
