T he Community of Harbor Bay Isle Owners’ Association recently hosted three evenings of Board Member Training. The sessions were conducted by Jasmine Hale, Esq. of Berding & Weil, Attorneys at Law. Two sessions—General Overview and Beginner Training— covered a wide range of Board Member Duties and Responsibilities, including legal duties, the business judgment rule, director actions and conduct, board meetings and meeting minutes, fair housing laws, owner discipline and enforcement, inspection of records, and financial responsibilities. The third session, Advanced Director Training, provided a more intermediate-level discussion focused on committees, owner discipline and enforcement, fair housing claims, dispute resolution, and insurance. Board members came ready to learn, ask questions, and participate in lively discussions throughout all three sessions. Also in attendance were CHBIOA Association Managers Diana Torres, Elyce Philcox, Samantha Soogian, and Shenandoah Lush, along with Office Manager Jacqui Vasquez and Executive Director Dawn Jaeger. These informative sessions provided an excellent opportunity for CHBIOA Board Members and staff to strengthen their knowledge and better serve the Harbor Bay Isle community.
