form makes it easier than ever to report any landscaping or maintenance issue you see to Management by submit ting a photo, an exact location of the issue and a detailed description of the issue. With the days beginning to get shorter, it is a great time to check that all your exterior lights are working. You can easily fill out and submit this form on our website at harborbay.org/work-order-request or find it under 'Quick Links'. The warm, dry weather has shown an increase in pest reporting. Please do not leave dog or cat food outside. Centre Court has a history of pest problems and leav ing easily accessible food outside encourages rats, ants, racoons and opossums to flourish. Monthly Board of Directors meetings are still available in hybrid format, meaning that homeowners have the option of attending meetings in-person at the Community Center, 3195 Mecartney Road, or attending meetings remotely via RingCentral. We encourage all homeowners to attend our Centre Court monthly Board of Directors meetings to stay up-to-date on current events. Centre Court meets every second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM. Fall meeting dates are scheduled October 11th, November 8th and December 13th this year. These scheduled times are subject to change. Check the calendar at harborbay.org/calendar for meeting dates, times, agendas and other information related to the meetings. Clipper Cove by Cathy Sherrer I T IS ELECTION TIME AGAIN FOR THE CLIPPER COVE Board of Directors. Three positions are up for election. Two current Board members are running for re election. We meet monthly on the second Tuesday evening from 6:30 PM to approximately 8:30 PM (no meetings in August or December). Board membership is a wonderful way of making a difference in the Clipper Cove community. Interested parties should contact CCV@harborbay.org or 510-865-3363 to enter the race and submit a candidate statement by 5:00 PM on Thursday, November 16th. LANDSCAPE NEWS Trees – Storms this Winter battered a number of our trees. The fallen tree at 5 Cove has been removed and

a large pine behind 342 Channing was removed due to safety concerns. A significant portion of the latter tree had fallen into the path along the lagoon. Replacement trees will be planted later this year. Annually, A-Plus Arborists survey all Clipper Cove common area and residential front yard trees. We have contracted with A-Plus to perform the tree trimming they have recommended. Arborist recommended tree trimming in your front yard is covered by your homeowner dues. Per the Clipper cove CC&Rs, the cost of additional services beyond what is recommended (e.g., front yard or backyard trees removed, replaced, or additional trimming) is a homeowner expense. A-Plus may offer a discount for this work. Remember, you must first have an approved Landscape Application before any trees are removed/ replaced in your front and/or back yard. If you are interested in A-Plus services, please contact management. You will receive a postcard with the exact dates A-Plus will be working on trees. Conversions to Drought Tolerant Landscaping – Two more areas will undergo updates to water saving landscaping: 1) Curb strip on Capetown Drive between Channing Way and Crane Court and; 2) End of Capetown Drive adjacent to 5 Cove Road. The Clipper Cove Board is working with our landscape contractor to replace plants that did not fare well from the first two conversion projects. If you are interested in participating on a Landscape Committee, please contact our Association Manager. ARCHITECTURAL NEWS Painting – It has been exciting to see new painting projects being completed over the last few months. The new color palette has been used on most homes. Choosing colors from the new palette is strongly encouraged but the Board will continue to consider exceptions. Remember, if you apply for an exception, you must paint a sample of your proposed colors on your house or a large board. WILDLIFE Some of you might have been lucky enough to see a River Otter swimming in our lagoon in June! Sea lions can be spotted mid-September through mid-December along Shoreline Park. Graceful Brown Pelican numbers ebb and flow with migrating fish.
