Sandpiper Cove by Matthew Harms, Board Secretary W E ARE EXCITED TO UPDATE YOU IN THIS quarter’s edition of The Gull’s Call on our plans for further strengthening our community bonds as well as decreasing liabilities to our association. NATIONAL NIGHT OUT To increase community interactions and help neighbors get to know each other we are pleased to announce that our community will be participating in National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer. We are planning to host a small party on the Green Belt where we will serve food and will invite our police and firemen to come visit and engage with our community. Please mark your calendars and updated information will be sent a few weeks prior to the event! SIGNAGE As we continue to think about ways to improve our shared areas and reduce potential liabilities to our homeowners, we are keen to inform you about updated signage coming to the Tot Lot as well as our grassy area on the Green Belt. The sign at the Tot Lot (by the sand pit) will be replaced with updated language that clarifies who the playground is intended for, but importantly now reflects guidelines for the toys that are kept at the park. We are updating the signage to clarify that toys need to be placed back in the sandbox when play is finished and that damaged toys should be disposed of. This clear signage decreases liability to the community by promoting best practices that will reduce the likelihood of a pedestrian or bicyclist falling due to striking a toy, as well as preventing children from being hurt by potentially sharp plastic, for example. On the green belt a new sign will be installed that will match the aesthetics of the Tot Lot signage. The information on this sign will convey our community’s rules for use of this common area with reminders that vehicles are not allowed on the grass, garbage that does not fit in the garbage cans needs to be removed, and that those hosting events can be held liable for damage incurred to the irrigation system and the park at large from the installation of bounce houses and other party

related equipment. While we continue to encourage our community to use our common areas, we do want to preserve the state of the park for all residents and prevent costly repairs to the community. Building a strong community requires both connection and shared responsibility. Through events like National Night Out and the implementation of thoughtful guidelines for our common areas, we hope to foster a safer, more engaged neighborhood while protecting the amenities that all residents enjoy. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we continue working to make our community a welcoming, well-maintained, and vibrant place to call home. Seastrand by Diana Torres, Association Manager I HOPE YOU ARE ALL DOING WELL AND ENJOYING WARMER spring weather and longer days. The Seastrand Board would like to update you on recent events within our community. At the end of May, Bill Pai concluded his service on the Seastrand Board. During his many years of service, Bill served on both the Seastrand and CHBIOA Boards and held the position of President for each. Bill has been a dedicated leader and a strong voice for our community. His commitment, thoughtful leadership, and willingness to serve have helped make Seastrand and Harbor Bay Isle better places to live. He has set a wonderful example of volunteer service and community involvement. Thank you, Bill, for your years of dedication and contributions. Your presence and leadership will be greatly missed. SAFETY We have recently experienced a couple of security-related incidents within Seastrand. In the first, an individual was observed rummaging through recycling containers that had been placed at the curb for ACI pickup. Residents should be aware that the City of Alameda prohibits the unauthorized removal of materials from ACI collection containers. If you observe someone going through recycling barrels or engaging in other suspicious activity, please
