Randi Carlson Hinkle; Director, Lesa Ross. Special thanks to Amena Anai, Beth Sibley, Pat Steacy, and Carole Wells for preparing and bringing refreshments to our meeting. Guest speakers included Jon Hamilton of CLASS, Javier Silva of Harbor Bay Security, and Lizeth Espinosa of Terra Landscape. Each provided informative updates regarding the services and support they provide to Harbor Pointe and the greater Harbor Bay Isle community. In addition, Association Manager Samantha Soogian shared a brief report from Village Representative Tim Coffey. Homeowners in attendance had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the presenters. We are grateful for their continued contributions to the quality of life and enjoyment of our homes and neighborhood. Attendees were also given the opportunity to review potential paint colors being considered to replace the current “Harbor Pointe Green.” With the closure of Kelly-Moore Paints, a new color selection must be made for the trim repainting project scheduled for later this year. The Board appreciates the feedback received from homeowners as part of this important decision-making process. A special thank you goes to Hendrik Bruhn for volunteering to chair the newly formed Maintenance Committee. Hendrik, along with John Wells and Jim Hinkle, recently conducted a thorough inspection of all Harbor Pointe bollards to assess their condition and determine whether any required removal, replacement, or repair before this year’s painting project. We are pleased to report that the vast majority of the bollards remain in remarkably good condition for their age and will only require minor wood rot repairs prior to painting. BOARD TRAINING All board members of Harbor Bay HOAs had the opportu nity in March to attend a webinar given by Berding & Weil Attorneys at Law regarding ADA Compliance and Fiduciary Duty that focused on “Duty of Care” and “Duty of Loy alty”. We are grateful to CHBIOA Director, Dawn Jaeger, for offering these educational opportunities to those of us who volunteer on behalf of our HOAs. ASPHALT RESURFACING The asphalt resurfacing project on Harbor Road has been completed. Between the extensive work associated with
the state-mandated Private Sewer Lateral (PSL) improve ments and several rainstorms, the project presented a number of challenges. We would like to thank all resi dents for their patience and cooperation throughout the process. Looking ahead, the Association will be focusing on several important maintenance projects, including trim painting and tree maintenance. With these and other planned improvements on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a busy and productive year for our community. SUMMER POTLUCK PICNIC Mark your calendars for our Annual Summer Potluck Picnic, scheduled for the afternoon of August 2! With many new homeowners joining our community, this is the perfect opportunity to meet your neighbors, make new friends, and enjoy our beautiful outdoor spaces and sum mer weather. As always, the picnic will feature a wonderful variety of homemade dishes, showcasing the culinary talents of our residents. Door prizes, generously donated by our Party Committee, will also be part of the festivities. If you would like to contribute a door prize, please let us know—we welcome your participation. Be sure to watch for informational flyers posted at our mail kiosks in July, which will include additional event de tails and contact information. We look forward to seeing you there for an afternoon of food, fun, and community spirit! Headlands by Barbara Curtis “Summertime, and the living is easy…” I T’S AN ICONIC SONG FOR A REASON. AS THE DAYS stretch longer and the sun finally decides to stay a while, that familiar, nostalgic wave of excitement hits. Honestly, even though it’s been a minute since I was a school kid myself, I still get that undeniable "last day of school" feeling of pure freedom this time of year! Here in Harbor Bay, we are incredibly lucky. Our neighborhood is practically an outdoor playground. Whether your summer vibe is biking the paths, peaceful morning walks, or catching the wind paddle-boarding and kite-sailing, there is no shortage of ways to soak up the season.
