be replaced. Over the next 3 to 5 years, working within allocated reserve budgets and being mindful of irrigation requirements, we anticipate making our way throughout the entire Headlands community. HEADLANDS BOARD SERVICE It's not too soon to think about joining the Headland’s team of elected Board members. With a total of five members, each serving a two-year term, there are new elections each year for those whose terms expire. Some of our members have already served for 20 years helping upgrade and maintain landscape investments and carefully manage funds and expenses to keep HOA fees virtually flat – with rate increases only twice in 20 years. It would be particularly helpful to add new voices to continue to evolve the quality of our community including safety, maintenance, and the overall longevity and enjoyment of our homes. Each member contributes a unique specialty to the group be it finance, business, communications, building construction, security, law, or landscape design. We welcome any of these skills and more to help make the best decisions for our community. Meetings are held every other month at 6:30 PM at the Community Center, with the option to attend via Ring Central. A sign is posted at the Headlands entrance as a reminder. All homeowners are invited to attend. Please at tend to ask questions about becoming a Board member or send your inquiries to our Association Manager at HDL@ harborbay.org. It's a great way to contribute, get to know other neighbors, and leave a legacy to our community. Each year our association installs festive holiday lights on the palm trees at our community entrance. Many people, not only in the Headlands, but the Community of Harbor Bay and Alameda, enjoy these lights each year. While the newly contracted company has improved the technology and strategies for installing lights under sometimes harsh bayside weather conditions, our electrical outlets have presented ongoing challenges and may need to be addressed moving forward. Meanwhile, we’d love to hear feedback from our homeowners and community about this ongoing tradition. Please join our next board meeting or send your feedback to our Association Manager at HDL@harborbay. org. CURB STRIPS At upcoming board meetings, we will review proposals for the ongoing refreshment of plant material in our maturing 14 year-old curb strips. We will review plants that have worked well for drought, foot traffic, size and maintenance requirements, and others that need to
